Moving from one location to another is a daunting task to anyone who has ever done it, even with a good Removal Companies. I know that the first time I had to move myself and my company to new offices I thought the process would never be completed on time because I just hadn’t organized it properly. Things got there in the wrong order and once everything was in its new home I had no idea where to put them. A little pre-planning could have taken a lot of the hassle out of the project.
The very first thing I needed to have done but wasn’t, was to take inventory of the office space in the new location. Naturally, I had examined the place, but I hadn’t actually measured it. The realtor told me what the measurements were and I just assumed that she knew what she was talking about. The issue was that while she was sometimes right. My assumptions proved me wrong when I attempted to position a desk where I had planned to put it. The book shelves and filing cabinets were put with the desk which made the space far too tight after we received them, and the entire area needed to be replanned whilst the furniture was still coming in.
The next thing I found was that office furniture removals, by professionals, which are planned by the proffessionals at the time of the move, usually finish up with items in the wrong order. The desks and tables were packed on the moving truck first which would lead to them coming off the wagon last, which in turn meant that all of the stuff which was meant to come off last, the heavier pieces of furniture wanted to be put on the floor to start with. Things that were stacked on the floor interfered with the placement of heavy desks and other large furnishings. The little stuff like lamps and other office furniture that go on counters/desks should have been packed first so they could come off the vans last.
Then there had been the difficulty of the electronic gear. Computers and screens, printers, copiers, telephones and other electronic equipment, and all the little things that make an office habitable by a busy workplace environment are fairly fragile and have to be specially wrapped and transported. Just putting them at random into the truck, even carefully wrapped up in blankets, can cause damage to frail electronics. This equipment must be the very last thing to be put in the new space, after all, the coarse and tumble of furniture moving is complete to prevent it from competing and potential random breakage. That recommends it’s got to be the very first thing in the van.
To summarise, the 4 most vital things i have discovered to make moving company and relocations much more easy are office removals:
1. Know the measurements before you start the move in order that you can know precisely where equipment will be placed when you get to the new office.
2. Pack smaller things into the truck first and the heavy furniture last so that when you get there you can put the shelves and desks in first. That way you have got a place to put the minority of stuff when it comes in.
3. Keep the electronic equipment safe by packing it separately. Wrapped in bubble wrap and blankets, then put into card boxes. Computers, communications gear, shredders, copiers, and so forth will arrive in working order to be set up after the large items are in.
4. And the fourth thing is to hire a company that’s content to hear your needs. So often it’s the case that the movers pefer making their selections for you and are not willing to accept the input of the people that need to know what they require.
Plan in advance and the move can be as smooth as possible.
